Logo redesign: Karlien & Kandas

I was asked to do a redesign of the logo of a day-care of sort last week. Their current logo, drawn from the original illustration of the Afrikaans children's story from which the company's name is drawn, was a bit dated, but still evocative. I tried to retain the feel of the original, but to update it to be more modern, appealing and approachable. Designing something that children would appreciate is an unusal challenge, and quite enjoyable.
