Popular wisdom would have us believe that one should never judge a book by its cover, but this jewel of a novel is, I think, a clear exception to that rule. I was immediately entranced by its beautiful cover, along with the silver on the edge of the pages. I knew that any book this pretty outside was one worth reading.

The story is a type of modern fairy tale, with little directly fantastical elements, but a continued otherwordly atmosphere. The style of the writing is light, elegant and emotive, and the relatively simplistic plot is perfectly delivered.

This is a great read, enjoyable and though-provoking without requiring an effort of the reader to finish it. I can strongly recommend it.
