As a gift to Dorette, I did this painting a few weeks back. The canvas was an extra one I'd bought for my previous painting (the same size thus), but not used. As I was on "holiday" at the time, I spent an entire Saturday painting and finished it all in one go. It turned out really well, with warm, earthy colours that I think are really inviting. This is now the third painting I've done for someone else, and I rather like the idea that other people are getting enjoyment from them. For myself it's the act of creating something that's most enjoyable, whereas keeping it afterwards has limited appeal.

I have no specific paintings planned at the moment, so if anyone has a good idea and would like me to paint it for them, please let me know. All I would like in return is that you cover my costs - usually between R200 and R400, depending on the size of the canvas.
